I’m Entertained lyrics

Complaining aint as focused as it used to be
The truth keeps getting harder to disclose
Where once a troubling though inspired an answer
The thoughts remain defiant, unopposed

The words are getting tougher to articulate
Precious time wasted on how, not what is said
Every letter held at gunpoint, forced to formulate
A message; but a song arrives instead

The truth is distractions take precedence
Over matters of substance and consequence
We’ve lost our voice, but kept our eloquence
And I say… I’m entertained

A concept lying dormant in a landfill
With a host the lacks the courage to express
And every year that passes by, a fragment of the concept dies
And we all comply, and silently regress

Suppressed conviction may well be indifference
And buried wisdom may well not be there
Priorities met with neglect, will breed resentment and contempt
We slip away completely unaware

The truth is distractions take precedence
Over matters of substance and consequence
We’ve lost our strength, but kept our confidence
And I say… I’m entertained

Inspiration used to come so easily,
Injustice was the catalyst for change
A hardened heart no longer heard, its silence proof of wasted words
But once it screamed so loudly to relay…

The truth is distractions take precedence
Over matter of substance of and consequence
We’ve lost our voice but kept our eloquence
We’ve lost our strength but kept our confidence
And as ideals begin to evanesce
We believe our lives still have significance
It’s not like this makes any difference
But I say
I’m entertained
